The Exo Terra Cricket Pen offers a perfect solution for storing, maintaining, and releasing live crickets. Crickets naturally seek out dark hiding spots, and the provided tubes serve as ideal shelters, doubling as easy dispensing aids. Even when the lid is off, the tubes stay securely in place, minimizing the risk of crickets escaping and allowing hassle-free access.
For extended cricket vitality, consider “gut loading” or offering a piece of apple as a food source!

Use the Exo Terra Cricket Pen as a storage or transport container for crickets. Slide out a tube and lower the flapper to prevent escapes. If moving to a terrarium, cover the tube opening with your hand, then tap lightly to release the desired number of crickets. Ensure only one tube is removed at a time to avoid escapes.
Keep crickets in a ventilated area at 21-23 °C (70-75 °F) with low humidity. Avoid direct sunlight and chilly drafts. Maintain a clean, dry pen and provide high-quality cricket food and water (gel) in the included shallow dishes. If gel isn’t available, a moist sponge can substitute, but avoid plain water to prevent drowning.
Regular cleaning of the unit is essential. Clear out debris and waste, then rinse the entire pen with hot water. Avoid soaps or detergents, as residues could harm or kill the crickets.
